Get the Scoop

A handful of years ago a dear friend suggested opening a kitchen with this business concept of providing healthy but convenient foods. So after a few rounds of test marketing and months and months of in the making ... here we are.

Hello. We are the LONGS and our family has been led down this road with the need to eat better. While admittedly I much prefer eating good food over cooking it... cooking is the means to this happy end. And, if you're like so many of us and have a sensitivity or even allergy to a food; cook you must. For me this leads to a flurry of dirty dishes. These two things make me very grateful when I don't have to actually make a meal. Combine this with a demanding schedule and these are some of the ingredients that stirred this venture with wrapitup.

I have learned that eating healthy is a relative term and can mean very different things to each of us.

Many years ago I wanted my children to eat healthier so I stopped feeding them cereal for breakfast. With this change came eggos, pancakes, French toast, juice and if that wasn't enough sugar to start my kiddos day, a sampling of fruit. Then, I took out juice pouches from my kids’ lunches and replaced it with water. I cut back on the pudding and fruit snacks and replaced them with more whole foods. Later I tried to institute that my kids ate three servings of veggies each day. My oldest children needed more protein in their diet; my husband had health issues and was diagnosed with a choking problem associated with food, so we started juicing. My youngest had issues with sugar…and when I found I had problems with gluten our diet changed even more. We have come a LONG way!

Keep in mind there is a lot more to eating healthier. Like the topics of organics, hormones, antibiotics or other miscellaneous issues such as sodium solutions or ethylene used to artificially ripen our fruits, gmos, and dyes. Not to mention Teflon or plastics for cooking and storing our foods. And the list goes on.

Eating healthy or healthier can be like, as the saying goes, eating an elephant. At wrapitup we hope we can help with that! We provide nearly 45 vegetables and fruits on our menu, a large selection of whole foods, house made juices, sauces, dips, and seasonings. Our website is equipped with a nutrition and allergen chart to help you be more informed about your choices so you can more easily eat healthier. It is our hope that as you eat better, that you will feel better! I know our family has…because we are what we eat!!!
